First Stop: Tampa
Posted on September 05 2017
Hi everyone! I figured I would get this started by quickly introducing myself so you could learn a little bit about me; My name is Alexandra, I’m a graduate student at Florida State University (go Noles!) and I also work full time as a Project Manager. I love to spend as much of my free time as possible traveling as I’m a wandering soul and can never stay in one place for too long. Last weekend I went to visit some friends and scout locations for a new apartment in Tampa, and I had the best time! I love Tampa because it’s full of amazing restaurants, great shopping, and has so many fun things to do. If you ever have the chance, go! I promise you will have a good time. One of the first things on my list was to eat at my favorite downtown spot, the Oxford Exchange. After I ate enough food for ten people (their Brussels sprouts are the best by the way), we went to my favorite happy hour spot, Franklin Manor. They serve the prettiest frozen rosé and have an awesome patio with live music on the weekends. We finished the night at our usual spots in Soho (Lodge and Saloon are my go-to bars). I woke up the next day and was craving some tacos so I headed to Bartaco in Hyde Park (I am literally obsessed). It has a super cool vibe and serves some of the best tacos in Tampa. After lunch I went to International Plaza to do some shopping and then headed to Brick House Tavern + Tap to watch my Noles open the college football season against Alabama. They lost the game unfortunately, but I still had a blast with my friends. If you ever go to Brick House make sure you order the duck wings, just trust me on this one. Sunday morning we had brunch at a new spot in Seminole Heights called Mortar & Pestle. I highly recommend this place! All of their drinks are brewed in house and the food is amazing. Every week they change their menu so there are always new options to try. On my way home I stopped by the market in Hyde Park which happens every first Sunday of the month. This is an awesome place to find some unique vendors for food, clothes, and drinks and as a bonus it's also dog friendly! As usual, it was a solid weekend spent in Tampa and I can't wait to be living there permanently. If you're loving all of the Briny clothes like I am then be sure to use my code ALEX20 for 20% off! Stay tuned for a new blog post next week when I head to Denver!
